The Gunguna

In 2015, La Gunguna dominated the III La Silla Awards, winning an impressive 17 out of 22 categories. This critically acclaimed film tells the darkly humorous and intriguing tale of a .22 caliber pistol, nicknamed “La Gunguna,” that brings bad luck and misfortune to anyone who possesses it. The narrative weaves through the Caribbean, tracing the gun’s ominous journey, starting as a gift from Italian fascists to Trujillo during his visit to Generalissimo Franco. Through its travels, La Gunguna intersects with various characters, each leaving their unique mark on its cursed story. For this project, we had the honor of designing the official movie poster. The design places the infamous gun prominently in the foreground, surrounded by the film’s eclectic cast of characters, capturing the essence of the film’s dark humor and Caribbean flair.
