Dominican monuments, Dominican Third Menina

Design and execution of the “Menina” country brand artwork featuring iconic monuments from the Dominican Republic, exhibited in Madrid, Spain. This marks the third time the Dominican Republic has been represented in this prestigious exhibition. The first Menina, “Caras de Dominicana,” was designed by Isabella Fernández, and the second, “La Menina Caribeña,” by Taína Almodóvar—both talented Dominican artists. This initiative is a collaboration with the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Spain, aiming to promote Dominican culture and identity on an international stage. Before arriving in the Dominican Republic, this Menina was unveiled at Plaza Colón in Madrid in a special ceremony attended by Juan Bolívar Díaz Santana, Dominican Ambassador to Spain; Antonio Azzato, creator of Meninas Madrid Gallery; and representatives of the Dominican community in Spain. Designed by acclaimed Dominican artist Angurria, “Monumentos de Dominicana” is a vibrant celebration of the country’s most iconic landmarks. Through his distinctive use of warm and cool tones, Angurria masterfully captures the essence of Dominican identity, creating a piece that is both visually striking and deeply evocative.
